Coke Canada Bottling is determined to make a positive difference in the communities in which it operates with a particular focus on innovative initiatives that support diversity and inclusion and youth employability. Our purpose is intrinsically linked to earning our Social License to Operate, and to achieve growth, we need to show our Local Bottler communities that they are better off with us a part of them. We work to make a positive difference in our communities through employee volunteerism and programming with a particular focus that aligns to our four Community Pillars of Sustainability, Economic Contribution, Diversity and Inclusion, and Youth Employability. Mentorship has long been proven as a vital component to support diverse populations and help groups, communities, and organizations operate in inclusive ways. It is also critical for youth employability, as it is proven to help improve skills, self-confidence, motivation, and establish career paths.
Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) is teaming up with Coke Canada Bottling to host this unique career mentoring opportunity. Through this 60-minute virtual event, BBBS youth will have the opportunity to be connected to Coke Canada professionals who will share their post-secondary or professional journey. This event will also include an opportunity to breakout into smaller group discussions where Coke Canada employee volunteers can share knowledge and career experiences, answer questions from BBBS youth and provide insights to help support youth to be better enabled to gain employment through career mentorship, motivation, and skill building.
This is an incredible opportunity to share a conversation and knowledge with a young person, increase awareness and access to career opportunities, and help youth practice professional communication skills and build confidence for future success!
