Dr. Anthony Feinstein

Dr. Anthony Feinstein’s expertise is in the neuropsychiatry of multiple sclerosis and his research includes neuropsychological testing that includes brain imaging (both structural and functional) and quantification of mood symptoms. He is professor of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto and run a MS Neuropsychiatry service at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. His research has been supported by the MS Society of Canada, Canadian Institute of Health Research and the Progressive MS Alliance. The MS Society funded studies have looked at brain MRI correlation with depression, the development of computerized tests of cognition, imaging changes linked to cannabis use in people with MS, pseudobulbar affect and more recently looking at cognitive rehabilitation and exercise in people with progressive MS. Findings from his research are considered translational in that the findings from the lab are generally applicable to patient care. Dr. Feinstein was formerly Chair of the Medical Committee of the MS Society of Canada.
